Clara Johnson is thrilled to be joining the Bellevue Youth Choirs staff! A native of the Pacific Northwest, Clara has been singing in choirs since the age of four. She earned her Bachelor’s in Vocal Performance in 2015 and her Master’s in Choral Conducting in 2018, both from Western Washington University. Highlights of her choral career include tours to Austria, Finland, Estonia, Brazil, the UK, Spain, Portugal, Canada, and New York to participate in competitions and festivals alike. Clara now works as the Director of Music Ministries at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Olympia and is a member of the Seattle Opera Supplemental Chorus. She is in demand as a soloist, voice teacher, and conductor throughout the greater Seattle area.

Clara’s choral philosophy revolves around nurturing life-long singers. She believes that implementing good vocal pedagogy in an ensemble setting from a young age creates opportunities for greater success throughout a singer’s career. She is honored to be working with such a talented group of artists.
