This year has been one for the books – and yet we’ve made it to the end! In this letter, we’d like to share some successes with you from this season. As the year draws to a close, please consider remembering BYC in your end-of-year giving.
Since March 2020, BYC has:
maintained essential staff and kept operations going
embarked on a new online learning adventure with Musicianship Training, a weekly music theory workshop for both beginning and advanced students that will continue throughout the 2021 season (enroll here)
offered a month-long class, “Music Beyond,” and brought in guest workshop leaders to teach students about Musical Theatre
produced our first-ever Virtual Choir Concert online, Home for the Holidays, which is now shared on YouTube, available for all
sent holiday cards to the retirement homes choristers regularly visit during December as a way to spread the joy of song with residents in quarantine
kept in contact with our community, from the board members who meet monthly, to the longtime staff members working and advising the board, to the choristers we see weekly and the ones we still miss
Now we eagerly await fall 2021 and the hopeful return of in-person singing once more! As vaccinations progress across the state we increasingly look towards a reopening date.
With reopening in mind, today we ask for your support. Can you donate to our fund for the future? As we await the return of your children’s angelic voices, we also must prepare for increased costs of purchasing supplies, paying our instructors, and a return of rental usage costs. We cannot wait to return to music-making again - please make sure that we can!
