BYC wishes a fond farewell to two staff members

Dear BYC community,

It is bittersweet to bid farewell to two of our staff members as we close out this very strange year. Ginger Ellingson & Yuh-Pey Lin will be leaving Bellevue Youth Choirs after many years of service.

Ginger has taught nearly all choir levels at BYC, ending her time as the director of Premier, our most advanced group. Over her time, Ginger has created a vibrant culture of healthy risk-taking and strong community for our choristers. We thank her for her many years of service. From Ms. Ellingson:

Dear Premier Choir,

What a joy it has been to make music with you for the last several years with BYC (and maybe more if you were a little with me as well!).

While the pandemic was challenging and I missed singing so much, not all was dark, as I welcomed a baby boy in to my family! I will not be returning to BYC so I can spend more time at home with him.

I will remember our time together fondly, from moments of musical bliss, to dinner in the lobby, to overtired laughing fits during late rehearsals. Thank you so much for your laughter and music.

Keep singing. Warmly,
Ginger Ellingson

Yuh-Pey Lin has been a collaborative pianist at BYC, most recently working with Premier. Her incredible skill on the piano and the oboe will be greatly missed.
