Rehearsals Wednesdays 4:30-7:30pm, plus concerts if available and interested(March 15th and June 14th)

First Rehearsal
Wednesday January 8th

BYC follows the BSD calendar and takes the following breaks: one-week Thanksgiving break, two-week winter break, one-week midwinter break, one-week spring break.

Location

Rehearsals are at Cross of Christ Church in Bellevue (411 156th Ave NE, Bellevue, WA 98007)

Concert Locations:

  • March 15th - Renton IKEA Performing Arts Center
  • June 14th - First Free Methodist Church in Seattle

Compensation

  • Part-time, 3 hours per week, with potential additional hours through Mainstage concert support or remote administrative tasks (if interested)
  • Hourly rate: $22.50 per hour (with room for growth based for performance)
  • No additional benefits at this time

Job Specifics
BYC is seeking a friendly, reliable, and organized individual to support weekly rehearsals and potentially serve our front-of-house operations during concerts. This role is an opportunity to work closely with our vibrant community, assisting families and ensuring smooth event logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and check in choristers upon arrival.
  • Accurately maintain and update attendance records.
  • Serve as a point of contact for parents, answering questions and addressing concerns.
  • Contact parents for time-sensitive updates as needed.

Optional Mainstage Concert Support (March 15 at Renton IKEA Performing Arts Center, June 14 at First Free Methodist Church, Seattle):

  • Assist with front-of-house operations, such as ticketing, signage, and guest support.
  • Coordinate and support volunteers to ensure smooth logistics.
  • Provide additional event support as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective communication with parents, staff, and volunteers.
  • Proficiency with basic computer tools (e.g., spreadsheets, email).
  • Ability to multitask and manage time-sensitive responsibilities.
  • Event or volunteer coordination experience is a plus, though not required.

About BYC
Bellevue Youth Choirs (BYC) is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2012 and is comprised of a variety of choir levels serving youth in Pre-K through 12th+ grade from the greater Bellevue area. Choristers learn musicianship, vocal technique, performance skills, and participate in mainstage concerts, outreach and community events, and collaborations with the finest musicians and choral groups. The auditioned choirs participate in regional choral festivals and tours.
