Bellevue Youth Choirs (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of ethical conduct, transparency, and legal compliance in all our activities. This Compliance Policy outlines the principles and expectations we follow to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and best practices.

1. Purpose‍

The purpose of this policy is to:

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws governing nonprofit organizations.
  • Promote ethical behavior and accountability within Bellevue Youth Choirs.
  • Protect the organization, its members, donors, and stakeholders from risks associated with non-compliance.

2. Scope

‍This policy applies to all staff, volunteers, choir members, families, contractors, and board members of Bellevue Youth Choirs.

3. Legal and Regulatory Compliance

Bellevue Youth Choirs complies with all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to:

  1. IRS Requirements for Nonprofits: Ensuring proper use of funds, accurate tax reporting, and maintaining 501(c)(3) status.
  2. Employment and Labor Laws: Adhering to anti-discrimination, wage, and workplace safety regulations.
  3. Child Protection Laws: Following mandatory reporting requirements and safeguarding policies to ensure the safety of youth participants.

4. Financial Integrity

We are committed to transparent financial practices, including:

  • Maintaining accurate financial records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Ensuring donations, grants, and program fees are used for their intended purposes.
  • Conducting regular audits or financial reviews to assess and improve financial processes.

5. Confidentiality and Data Privacy

We protect personal and sensitive information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Staff and volunteers must handle data responsibly and only use it for authorized purposes.

6. Conflicts of Interest

Staff, board members, and volunteers must avoid situations where personal interests conflict with organizational responsibilities. All potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed and addressed in accordance with our Conflict of Interest Policy.
