Accompanist for Intermezzo Choir
2019

Kyle Hanks is an award-winning composer and an accomplished accompanist.  He always had an interest in music, but after moving to Washington State from California when he was twelve years old, music quickly became Kyle's primary expressive and creative outlet.  Throughout middle and high school, Kyle played an assortment of wind instruments before settling on piano during his first year of college.

Kyle graduated from Western Washington University with his Bachelor of Music degree, with a composition concentration.  While at WWU, Kyle studied piano performance with Dr. Milica Jelaca Jovanovic, organ and keyboard skills with Dr. Judith Widrig, and piano accompanying with Jeffrey Gilliam, as well as composition with Dr. Roger Briggs, Dr. Lesley Sommer, Dr. Bruce Hamilton, and Dr. Adam Haws.

Now living in Olympia, Kyle has kept busy by working for churches, accompanying students in competitions, playing just for fun, and by taking care of his two cats, Atlas and Bastien.
