Bellevue Youth Choirs has a tradition, dating back to the founding of our organization, of giving back to our community. While we can't perform live this holiday season, we can send a virtual outreach to Bellevue’s local assisted living and nursing homes. We can still be part of their holiday celebrations and spread joy through music!
BYC is proud to announce a Virtual Choir project that will begin November 1 and be presented on YouTube on December 14. After our “concert,” we will send digital and physical cards to Bellevue’s assisted living and nursing homes along with a link to show our “performance” to their residents.
We’d like to invite choristers and their friends and family from 3rd grade and up to participate by recording audio and video tracks of themselves singing holiday favorites. Current, former, new, and alumni choristers are all welcome. We will have four virtual rehearsals to answer questions, share details of the project and practice the music we will perform. Invite your school friends to participate as well - the more, the merrier!
IMPORTANT DATES AND DETAILS
Now - November 1st: Virtual Choir enrollment open Who: Current, former, new, and alumni choristers 3rd grade and up - plus friends who love to sing. Younger singers will be invited to join a special project soon! November 1st: Music and tracks sent to enrolled students November 2, 9, 16, 23, all 5:30-6:15: Rehearsals over Teams December 14, 4:45PM: Virtual concert release and letter-writing celebration Cost: $35 suggested donation
Instructions on how to record audio and video will be sent to choristers after enrolling. No special materials are needed - just a device (phone, computer) with audio and video capabilities!
Younger choristers, stay tuned for more information about how you can participate! There will be opportunities for you to join in the cheer by sending handwritten cards and sharing your talents in many different ways.
